About Zach
Zachary is a Licensed Professional Counselor and contemplative psychotherapist who blends Western psychological approaches with Eastern wisdom traditions to support healing, growth, and transformation. He holds a Master’s degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology from Naropa University and is the co-founder and Clinical Director of Virya Counseling Center, where he also trains and supervises emerging therapists.
With a warm, grounded, and non-pathologizing presence, Zachary helps clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and spiritual exploration. His work draws from mindfulness-based therapy, Gestalt, ACT, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Buddhist psychology, often integrating contemplative and body-centered practices to help clients access inner clarity, wisdom, and resilience.
Zachary believes therapy is a space to reconnect with your most authentic self and live with greater integrity and compassion. His approach supports clients in integrating mind, body, and spirit, helping them feel more fully alive and engaged. When he’s not practicing psychotherapy, Zachary spends his time connecting with friends and family, and playing, biking, and boarding.
